Four-slot industrial PC is ready for 5G comms

Nvdia’s high-end GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card is supported, which has 10,496 CUDA cores and 24Gbyte of GDDR6X memory.

The PC has one I/O module slot (’11’ in diagram), three PCIe slots (PCIe x8 (x4 signal) on slot 1 and 2, PCIe x16 on slot 3), plus one blank expansion slot.

“IPC970 has four choices of I/O modules to meet the requirements of various applications,” said Axiomtek product manager Ivy Lee. It has “three high-speed PCIe slots for vision, motion, data acquisition and I/O cards. It also has a built-in power board for supplying an additional 400W for high power consumption PCI/PCIe add-in cards”.

The optional module options are:

  • AX93511 – 4 x RS-232/422/485 module (default RS-232)
  • AX93512 – 2 x 1.5kVdc isolated RS-232/422/485, 8in-8out 1.5kVdc isolated digital IO
  • AX93516 – 4 x 2kVdc isolated RS-232/422/485
  • AX93519 – 1 x 10/100/1000Mbit/s Ethernet (Intel i211-AT), 2 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 signal)

On top of this for expansion are a full-size PCIe Mini Card slot for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/LTE modules, one M.2 Key B 3042/3050 socket for 5G wireless, and one M.2 Key E 2230 socket for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules.

For the system processor there are four DDR4-2933 ECC/non-ECC U-DIMM slots for a maximum of 128GB system memory and it is equipped with two swappable 2.5in SSDs/HDDs, an optional internal 2.5in SSD/HDD with support for RAID 0 or 1, and one M.2 key M 2280 socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) for NVMe SSD.

Four-slot industrial PC is ready for 5G commsSystem IO includes two Gbit Ethernet LAN ports, eight USB 3.2 ports, one internal USB 2.0 port (180D type A for license key),  1,920 x 1,200 VGA, 4,096 x 2,304 30Hz HDMI, a 4pin terminal block, audio line-out, and AT/ATX selecter switch. TPM 2.0 is available for data and network security.

The unit is 190 x 192 from the front and 360mm deep, with all of the IO on the front panel. There are optional brackets for wall mounting, a 5g antenna and the internal SSD or HDD.

Operation is from a nominal 24V (19 – 30V) and over -10 to +70°C. Over-voltage, over-current and reverse-voltage protection is included.
