The aluminum remelting, refining and rolling business of Yunnan Haoxin Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd. has passed the ASI performance standard certification. The facility has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of aluminum strip and aluminum foil. At the same time, a 35,000-ton aluminum foil expansion project that has not yet been put into operation is also included in this certification.
The Aluminum Industry Management Initiative ASI announced on August 24 that Yunnan Haoxin Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd. has successfully passed the ASI performance standard certification and has implemented the responsible production, procurement and management of aluminum. The factory produces various specifications of aluminum foil for a variety of downstream uses in electronics, packaging, pharmaceuticals, HVAC and other industries.
The ASI certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard program for the aluminum value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and standards, and aims to solve sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain. It has developed 59 standards under the three sustainability pillars of governance, environment and society. These standards focus on key issues such as biodiversity, indigenous rights and greenhouse gas emissions.
This independent third-party audit of Yunnan Haoxin Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd. was performed by TUV.
